Used for GP until 1977, the former circuit was redesigned in 1987 to become what it's today, it was spread over 5,403 km in 1996. The track has really changed since the days when the pilots were shaken by rolling on the paved portion of the circuit, but its winding chicanes and special changes of grade still ofer an interesting challenge to engineers and pilots.
The Czech track is difficult because it's so large – about 15m – that pilots can easily leave the path and make mistakes. The motorbikes must be effective in breaking because there are lots of curves. As everywhere, you have to find a good compromise between the balance and the speed, but it's a real pleasure to drive on this circuit !
