Arturo Tizon, the third man.
Before facing the 24 Hours Moto of Le Mans, the DGSport Herock team had to find a third rider to assist Olivier Depoorter and Josep Monge. And they found him in the Moto2 pool !
Arturo Tizon (27 years) will participate aboard the Yamaha R1 on the Bugatti track next week. The Spanish rider started on an Aprilia 125 in the Bancaja Cup in 1999, a cup meant for youngsters. In 2004, he became vice champion of Spain in Supersport and a year later he took the title. He always could be found at the world championships Supersport and the GP 250. He became 5th in the European Suzuki Cup and then there were the Spanish championships.
More recently, at the beginning of this season, already engaged in the Moto2 CEV championship, he classified second for the 24 Hours of Montmelo (Barcelona) with Team Folch, already alongside Josep Monge.
An excellent choice thus, familiar with our Michelin tyres and with the long relais of an endurance race.
